"transvestites"

i had a great night just now while accompanying mum at a dance competition show. it was fun and totally unexpected! instead of women, men (or should i say, "tranvestites"- dance coaches) dressed as women were competing against one another. i can't help but notice that their skin and body shape were fab! great job done! they all looked distinct as expected, while others looked real beautiful (like the one dressed in purple dress, shown in the photo above). we were told that he/she has really converted to a woman whereas the other competitors just dressed up like that for the sake of the competition. she is scarily beautiful, isn't she?

anyway, the dance was all latin, samba, rumba, tango style tonight. i sort of am familiar with the basic moves as i had taken up basic courses during first year and second year in my uni. watching them move so gracefully sure made me wanna move my feet and hands up in the air! ;P

my body is aching all over now. why? because i just had a massage just now by an indonesian auntie. she's a pain! literally. she pressed my muscles so hardly that i tot i would die. i screamed and she said i was weak. urgh! she told me to tolerate and i stupidly did. but look at me now. i am aching all over! what's the good in all this? i wouldn't be surprised if my shoulders and legs all have blueblacks over them. =(

apart from that, my skin is feeling all smooth now coz of the body scrub that she did. and that hurt too, you know. i think after this time, i am never gonna do it again with her. no matter how good my mum and grandma said she is, i am traumatised (basically) by the events today.

i miss taking latin dance class like year 1. wish i could find this sort of class here in singapore. somewhere cheap and fun! =)

yesterday, we went to seoul garden after church with our dearest grandma (mum's mumm). we ate til full. pic's below!

the joy of holiday.

it's coming to my 3rd day here in the bustling city of singapore. i feel so at home here, unlike melbourne, which i somehow feel a tad homesick every now and then. in here, everything is done for me and i just have to sit back and relax my mind, body and soul. wew, sound so laid back huh? but in fact, every day i've been out and walking on heels that my feet aches from all the walking. i need a more comfortable shoe/sandal that i can walk around all day with.

reached singapore on sing friday night. fetched by mum and smallest sis at the airport. *hearts* them. after that, we got home and i had green bean soup. realll good to see everyone at home. (= feel grateful to God that He has given me such a big family that's full of joy and love. slept like a pig that night as i was too tired after the flight.

on saturday, my family had a christmas celebration with mum's church friends. we had to perform a song "Mary's Child Boy" (sis on guitar and bro on flute) in front of everyone else. other families also had to contribute something. the night was filled with testimonies, singing, drama and eating. =D our dad paid for the catering of indo food. so nice of him, even though he wasn't there yesterday to celebrate it with us due to business commitments.

today, we intended to watch harry potter. but all places were fully booked! why!!! prob we had to wait til next week? when the movie fever had cooled down. so we spent the whole afternoon after church, taking our grandma to orchard to eat Seoul garden buffet and shop around taka. i got myself organizers for 2011 cause i needed better time management next year for honours degree. gonna be a crazy ride! and a grey flower hairband that, i think, is really pretty. heez. the whole day i've eaten lots that i just felt real fat at the end of the day. no breakfast tmrw for me as "punishment".

i haven't met any of my friends yet from secondary school or around neighbourhood. i want to spend quality time with my family first. that's my primary intention of coming back so yeah... my plan tomorrow will be to settle china visa for family tril in december and also, to get myself some massage!~ ahhhh~ can't wait to ease these tiring and ageing neck, back, leg, hand (practically everything). 3 years of biomedicine has seriously done my body damage. need to repair it first before i start honours year. wise idea hey?

gotta sleep now. feeling really tired. i just hope to spend more quality time with my family for the next weeks i will be here. there's still so much to catch up on! AND i haven't seen papi yet!!! where is he???

nitez world! GBUA.

dizzy in my head.

arghhh!!! got knocked on the head today while playing scare-the-children-away (out of boredom) with the kids when joykids (name of my church's kids' ministry) ended. it hurt so bad. i guess i am too old to be playing any game that is involved crawling under the table anymore? hix.

we celebrated isaac's 3rd bday after tt. he was so cute. not knowing what's going on when we sang and wished him happy birthday. *blank faces* LOL and as always his mum made food for the rest of the kids. i made a go at the fruits skewers. nyam..nyam..nyam..

i got my period today. that makes me even more in pain. urgh.

today hurts. today hurts. today hurts. i want all these to go away asap.

watched the church practice their drama today. i have to say everyone still has got lots to practice and be familiar with their acting roles and where to stand stuff like that. well, all the best to you all! there's still time for improvement! i know you all have spent so much time rehearsing apart from your busy schedules but keep up the good work! give it your best shot! our church depends on you!

i have got this report that i have to submit coming friday with word limit of 15k. so far i only achieved doing 5k. arghhh. i need a miracle. right here! this week!

FIGHTING to those having their exams tomorrow or next week! :)

some say this lucky, i say this blessed.

yesterday is the day that i have been dreading for. i had my research project presentation that is worth 20% and with duration of 15 minutes long. i set up my mind to do not just well for it, but awesome!!! that's why i haven't been socializing much the past week but focused on my presentation content and memorising of the script. i am so thankful for a school friend of mine, also doing the presentation, who lived in the same building as me. because of this convenience, we can practice presenting to each other even late at night. and we practice til we have confidence in what we're presenting and comment on each other's presentation.
my pastor sent us as often a text message and this is what it said, "You need to remind urself this truth in every second of ur life. 'God is with me, nothing to worry.'" so i prayed yesterday before leaving the house that things will go smoothly and they did! praise the Lord i actually had enough time yesterday to come early to the meeting room to practice presenting one more time and editing one little detail on my result slide that matters a lot if i dun change it. it would just kill my confidence during the presentation if i didn't have time to edit it. next thing, is that i really wanted to use a laser thing for us to point stuffs on the slide. and we managed to get it! and adriani, also from padang, came to panel our presentations. i am hoping she will be lenient towards me since we are both indonesian and come from the same hometown. hahahahahahahaa. anyway, so after the presentation ended (i went second among 3 other girls), i went home to rest. then something crossed my mind. i left my laptop charger in the hospital! and i need my laptop to do this 10k word report due next friday and to do my other revision. so i must go and get it. i left the house at 5.30pm and was hoping to settle it all by 6pm so that i have enough time to go for cell group at 7pm. however, the office door was locked when i reached as it was already after hours if it passed 5pm. zzzzzz. i waited for 15 minutes for someone to come out of the building but na-da. no such luck. so i texted my supervisor whether he was in or turning in tmrw. but he said he was neither. i almost panicked but tried to keep calm. because keeping calm makes me be able to think that i can settle things better. then as i was on my way back home on the tram, my supervisor called and said that he could stop by to pass me his key because he was going somewhere as well. what turned into a gloomy day suddenly turned bright for me. plus, my cell group leader called to say that he wants to drive me to the cell group location. it was already 6.30pm by then and i told him that he would be late if he were to pick me. but he insisted on fetching me cause he didn't want anyone to be late tt day. haha. if i were to take the public transport, it would take me another hour with lots of walking, and using a car would save me from all of that. some would say that i was lucky, but for me, i know i am blessed. My mum always tell me that good things come to those who is good. and at that point in time, i felt like i did good. no matter what i did before, it didn't matter anymore. yesterday, i felt like i had start afresh. from not coming to cell group for 2 weeks, yesterday coming to cell group again, i felt so refreshed. maybe i need to take those breaks off, i dunno. but what i know is that yesterday i was meant to come to refresh my spirit and catch up with friends again. and we had good dinner too after that @HappyPhoenix.

so yesterday started well and ended well. it was not a perfect day but it was definitely a blessed one. and that's all i need. to know that i'm loved in Him. and i know you all can feel it too if you called out His name and acknowledged Him as your Lord and saviour. i know i do.

Happy Day! XD

Happy Day~ (oh, happy day~) Happy Day~ (oh, happy day~)...

last night was awesome. after cell group and dinner @HappyPhoenix, some of us went to Crowns and waited for ivan to finish work and wished him happy birthday. then we headed to the Galaxy Arcade to play. Fenessa and Roselyn were both so excited about trying their luck at the cradle. so they got me excited to for them to win something. we all helped but unfortunately, they didn't win any in the end. there was also another game that got my heart beating like mad. it was super fun! it sure feels like i'm back to primary school again! (playing at the arcade in singapore clarke quay when mum and dad came to visit us back then. so many memories.) so yesterday, we really played our hearts out. i think it had been years since i last went to an arcade. there was the cradle, the photobooth, the hitting-the-mule game, DDR etc. we ended up playing til 2am and we didn't even realise until we ran out of money. lol o.O yesterday i also got to finish up some lab work that i desperately wanted to do. and my supervisor did sthg sweet too for me. maybe he's still trying to be funny but that's how i interpreted it.

today was even more awesome (triple times)! thanks to Tahnee for making my day! i smsed her in the morning when i woke up whether she could accompany me to shop and she agreed! actually she ended up shopping too and bought lots too! no surprise. it happens to me all the time~ haha. first i went to her place and she gave me lots of food to eat that my breakfast and sort-of lunch were settled. she's like a mum to me alr. then we took a tram to the city. we stopped at MelCent. first stop, i found a super petite black dress that i love i love! i fell in love with it after trying it on. it so fit my body!!! but i did not buy it (maybe next time). second stop, DECJUBA. tried so many dresses and decided on a pinkish dress for the biomed ball which is my goal for shopping. so target achieved! yay! and the shopping went on for some reason. third stop, SEED. omg i love this shop! we both love it the first time we set sight on it. funny. the shop has been there since forever, but it's only today that we really paid attention to it. we each bought a pair of jeans (same type) and a top to go with it at the shop. fourth stop, MYER intimates section. tahnee wanted some fancy ones and i helped her choose. we came across something interesting while browsing: air-padded bras! we went insane over it, but was disappointed with how they turned out after trying it on. no uplifting effect or whatsoever. plus it cost 130 bucks! so i did not buy them and tahnee bought whatever she needed. finally, for our fifth stop, we had Taro Milk bubble tea from EasyWay. sixth stop, we went Duty Free shop and i bought Marc Jacobs Daisy and Luccitane Peiona perfumes and Luccitane face mist and hand lotion. Luccitane was having offer for buy3free1. tahnee got herself a perfume as well and so we qualified for the offer!

gosh what a tiring day after walking around for almost 5 hours. we bought dinner from SeaSalt and went to my place to pass Tahnee my Microbes notes since she needed them. she went back home after. i went gym and did a bit of studying. watched a bit tv and Princess Diaries 2 was on. omg i admire Anne Hathaway. she's so pretty, really like a princess. how could anyone be that pretty?!? anyway, really feel blessed today! Tahnee, it's definitely a guilty-pleasure kind of thing that we did today girl! ;) better go church tomorrow to give thanks to the Lord, our never-ending provider! hehe.

Honours degree or not.

i am feeling so lost right now... should i do Honours or not? my heart's desire is to carry on doing medicine after my bachelor degree. but unfortunately, i can't because (let's just say) i did not fulfill its requirements. so simply said, i am stuck in biomed degree. well, one thing that encourages me to do Honours is that with that degree, i can start working. but the type of work that awaits isn't really what i had in mind or let alone, my passion. i get so much more excitement from me thinking that i am gonna be a paediatrician (doctor for children) rather than a lab research assistant (who sits more than half-a-day in the lab). so you see now why the confusement???

please pray that i made the right decision and that it is best for me.

Life is real with Him.

i just did some thinking... and turned out, life is not all that complicated after all.

GOD says,
John 14:6 Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
Matthew 6:33 See first the kingdom of God, and all things will be given to you.
Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

these verses in the bible stress the very important message that we first had to set in our hearts right before we set to make our decisions! in order to be able to live in a protected and blessed life. such as in school, work, marriage, relationships, financial, health etc. it so strongly emphasized on us depending on God for what He asks us to do, and not by our own strength.

Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit" says the Lord God Almighty

indeed, i've learnt through my life's experiences that God is real and He will come to fulfill whatever He has promised for in our lives. As long as we surrender our lives in His hands, no one can touch or ruin us, for He is greater than any man or spirit in this world that we live in. so why fear for tomorrow as long as we have God on our side? He has claimed victory for us. in fact, we are on the winning side!

John 16:33b In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

a phrase that i read off somewhere that really put me off at ease every night when i sleep on my bed. it says, "Whatever tomorrow holds, He holds tomorrow."

oh man, there is so much to share about the God that i believe in and His principles that i live my life by. but it's simply too much to be put into a blog post. and i can only describe it all in words. you have got to feel it for yourself in order to have a sense of what i'm talking about. oh what a sweet sweet feeling it is. life couldn't have been any more real!!!
