wow. i can't express how connected to God i felt during the sermon. it's not a revelation, "life-changing" experience sort of thing, but at least i know that God is with me wherever i go.
so this morning, i had yumcha with my brothers at chinatown. honestly speaking, i felt the need to have lunch with them since i am so busy for the whole week. not that i abandoned them, but i just got lots of commitments throughout the weekdays. hence when i was told by a friend that pastor kong was coming to melbourne, i asked them to come. they agreed. i was so pleased and i know that i know that i know that this is the time for me to bring my brother closer to God. indeed the service was powerful!!!
during yumcha, somehow the topic of God came up. and we even talked even more about it after yumcha and had bubble tea. then i had to leave for my dance practice. i met both them and my friend later to go to city life church. along the journey, we met really nice people who helped us to get to the church.
placed at Glen Waverley, city life church really has got loads of asians!! so many! i tink 80% of the congregation are actually asians. it really feels like a mini city harvest church. praise and worship was nice. then come to the sermon part, pastor mark conner (senior pastor of City Life Church) introduced Kong Hee to the church and Kong Hee preached about God's love...
the width: acceptance. the length: faithfulness. the height: loftiness. the depth: compassionate.
and in between his message, he talked about Jesus questioning God why He has been forsaken? (Matthew 27:46) anddddddddddddd this is what me and my brother stumbled upon during our talk in the day! it's like God is answering our question! so now, i know that God sometimes allow us to walk "alone" so that we can understand that God is with us. in fact, our God is never too far for us to reach out to. it's just that at times, we underestimate our God's authority and what He can do FOR US that we can't feel Him near. also during altar call, i wept since the longest time ever. i feel i'm releasing all my burden and worries about my life generally. i feel that my faith is renewed again in Him. also, i could feel God's presence in that place so real. so i poured out my heart. after crying, i felt so relieved. and hungry. so we set out to find a place to eat.
while discussing outside the church, a guy approached us and helped us to get back to the bus stop. we exchanged names and turned out he's from City Harvest Church in Singapore. then, at the bus stop, a girl heard us speaking about City Harvest Church and she popped into our conversation. apparently, she's from City Harvest Church too! they were both really friendly and so we talked during the bus ride to Glen Waverley train station. the guy's name is Andrew and he's doing 1st year in Commerce Melbourne Uni. the girl's name is Bettina and she's doing 3rd year in Public Relations & Marketing Monash Uni. and guess what?! they go to Bridge Church too, like us! actually i wanted my brother to exchange contact number with them, but guess maybe it's a bit too random so i didn't. well in the end, we parted ways.
for dinner, we ate at this Hot Pot restaurant. it was yummm! we ate til we had to stop cause our stomachs couldn't take it anymore. really nicee.
i thank Andreas for giving me the information of Pastor Kong's visit to City Life Church this weekend. it's made me experience God's wonderful presence again and awe at his wonders and mysteries in Kong's testimonies.
overall, today's really awesome! i am so blessed. truly am. i also would like to pray for Pastor Kong & his family & City Harvest Church. may he involve God in every step that he takes. may he make the right choices. peace be with him. amen.
may God continue to guide my every step. Psalm 32:8
