Lemon & Honey for sore throats.

meet my refrigerated Fairy Cakes.

they somehow change their shapes in the oven. LOL
so yesterday, even though i'm still feeling dreadful, i managed to bake cupcakes! and i'm guessing they're all virus-infected. eeww. but since everyone in the house is sick, no further harm done right? at first, there was no plan to bake but suddenly, my super busy sister asked me to bake and so together we cooked it up. luckily i already bought the ingredients ready. so nothing was lacking.

since my maid was oh-so sick, i tried my very best to not create a mess for her. like i dragged a chair into the kitchen and climbed it just to get the oven on top of the fridge down. everything went almost smoothly, except that i clueless-ly placed this box of wine bottle and soy sauce bottle at the edge of the refrigerator. and i didn't know that i'd placed it directly on top of the fridge door. little did i know, when we were about to start cooking and mum opened the fridge, wine and soy sauce came spilling out onto the floor and all over the kitchen. omg.

but apart from all that havock, trouble that my maid went through and not to forget, the music i faced from mum, the cake came out perfect. the texture was surprisingly right. i thought it would be too hard. if not, too soft. but all those worrying had been useless. i guess i didn't know that baking cupcakes was easy. maybe it's something that nobody can screw up? like pasta for example.

however, the icing is tough i should say. it's either supposed to be that runny, or it's not supposed to look like the thick whip of icing pictured in the book. oh well. at least it tasted and looked like icing in the end. well here's some last minute pictures i took before all of the cupcakes are gone. you see, i made 24 yesterday evening and now there's only 4 left! wow. i guess the people in the house really love it. (=

i am quite disappointed in myself. i intend to cook like Julie&Julia. but i guess it's not that natural for me to be able to cook/bake every single day like them. i am after all just a beginner. and i'm also just trying to start a new hobby of baking. but with so little food knowledge or whatever, thanks to the Dessert Bible and Cake Bible that i am able to accomplish 2 dishes so far. yay.

as for today, i made Lemon & Honey drink for everyone in the house. i freshly-squeezed the lemons myself and added the honey appropriately. it tasted really AWESOME for me. it has that kick, you know. but my cousins from jkt thinks i've put too much lemon in but the rest said it's nice. oh well. jkt people are so fussy sometimes. they don't like this, that. their taste is quite different to my family's. for example, who doesn't like chilli?

mum asked me whether i want the LV white bag since sunday. i don't know how to response so i just laughed back. is she serious? why are dad and her suddenly showering me with expensive gifts? does that mean that they want me to find my own money soon? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. i hope they're not.

i don't know. i am 20 now. i feel so old. like i need to be real independent from now on. huh.

I HATE BEING 20!!!

but i dun understand it when people say, '30 is the new 20.' or '40 is the new 20.' come on, man. what is the meaning of that?

oh well, we might be going for prata house later for dinner. hope everyone is going! i seriously need to be out of this house asap. get some fresh air...

xoxo,
