the memorable trip!

whooooooh! holiday is such a blast! everyone had fun fun fun! i am really thankful to dad for planning the trip for the whole family. you rock big time!

it's an 8D6N trip. by farmosa. the one thing that's a waste is that the tour guides speak in chinese, except the singaporean lady. not english. so most of the time, all of us slept in the coach bus. when we arrived, seoul was freezing cold. we were thrilled to see smoke coming out from our mouth that we lost our tour group. lol. but soon, we found them and got on the bus, joined by the rest of the tour group and guides. while on the bus, we took naps most of the time, listened to ipods or traced our fingers across the freezing cold windows to draw or practice korean words. our tour guide was a banci. niang niang ciang. i miss his unique laughters. also our tour group photographer is korean. she treats me like a sister and calls me o-ni everytime. she was also the photographer for us. the pictures she took were awesome.

in korea, we spent 6 days and 4 nights. the first two nights, we slept on the solid wooden floors that koreans used to sleep on (or still do in the less developed ones). it was painful to sleep on that i got backaches the next morning and continued to sleep on the bus after breakfast. the next two nights were much comfortable on normal bed.

first day- Singapore to Seoul, Incheon in the evening.
second day- arrived at dawn. took a ferry to winter sonata filming site over @ Nami Island, Mt Sorak to see temples? i noticed there's this cute guy in our tour group. but he and his sister don't resemble their parents at all. are they adopted? he's way taller and tanned than his parents. he looked kinda malay/mixed while his parents looked chinese to me. well, we hadn't spoken for the entire journey but i sat right next to his sister and him on the plane ride to HK. something that made me ill-feel...too much body odour! and they speak chinese! why? why?
third day- Happy Birthday couz ming~ he spent his bday ski-ing! also rode on cable car up the mountain which was 1450m high. it was deadly cold up there. minus 13 degrees! we had to be literally covered from head to toe in order to take pictures out in that chill. at night, only mum, dad, erica and i played in the water resort. the water slide was the most fun for us. the slide was dark and we were sliding with full speed. kinda reminded me of the Black Hole in Gold Coast. there is an indoor hot spring there too. we had to soak in naked! after that, we ate at this really nice korean restaurant. yummy!~ my taste buds really adore korean food! (= but overall i was disappointed we didn't eat BiBimBab during the entire korea trip. boohoohoo.
fourth day- mix soju and grape juice = disaster. both me and lyn got stomachache afterwards! plus it was the start of the day! went to YeoJu Premium Outlet after that. so many branded clothes there. but i didn't get to buy anything. just Hot Chocolate from Starbucks because it was so cold. i noticed Starbucks is as much as 7-Eleven stores in Singapore! they sure love Starbucks! in the afternoon, we went to Everland, a theme park. the roller coasters were all closed due to winter season. it's not as if i would ride on one if it's open... they were so high! bet @ Seven Luck casino that night. we each received coupons to play with. i lost mine. the birthday boy (who was not supposed to enter because he was only seventeen) won both times he played. the more he was convinced that he's a natural in gambling. my brother eric won once. we only got 30 minutes given. in the hotel that night, we played drinking game before sleeping. dad joined us too. the whiskey seemed to taste good. but i couldn't drink cause i got a rash on my hand and i'm afraid the rash is due to the soju i drank that morning? i was the dealer for that round.
fifth day- we visited a ginseng shop. i found out something else that i hate. ginseng. it not only looked horrible but also tasted disgusting! then we went to KimChi school and we each made our own kimchi of course. mum bought lots of them. apparently kimchi helps digestion a lot. that really explains the smelly toilets in the hotels. ckck. then we visited the Face Shop and bought lots of facial products. well, mostly Odbo. after that, we visited the ametheist store. i realized i lost dad's camera cover and felt really bad for him that i didn't have much interest to see those stones that were supposed to give your body health. at night, we shopped at DongDaeMun market. it's all selling winter coats and boots. i didn't really shop a lot. bought just a jacket. should have bought more actually. but the drive wasn't there i guess.
sixth day- went to visit the National Museum in the morning and we flew off to Hong Kong that afternoon. in HK, we were brought by the tour guide to eat noodles. i like the fishballs. but it was not fantastic too. then we took a taxi to Kowloon. lyn, naldo and i were being so childish we made fun of the old buildings in HK. we laughed like we were maniacs! i really love Kowloon! shopping everywhere!!! hehe. bought boots that night.
seventh day- ate YumCha in the late morning towards afternoon time. but it was not somewhere famous so the food was ok-ok. after that, we girls went to the place where we got our boots and mum and i did manicure! i love my nails now. they looked really groomed! it took one and half hour. in the evening, we ate at this Taiwan restaurant. the food was superb that the next day we ate there again. hehe. after that, we shopped somemore around at Harbour City. there's so many branded names there and SALES everywhere! it was like a heaven place if you have the money and drive for a shopping spree. i think overall we girls spent most at Ralph Lauren Polo Jeans Co. more than 800 sing dollars. but we were really satisfied with our buys. i just had to pay 25 dollars for one of the coats! then before we headed back home because mum and lyn complained of footache, i bought a Mulberry bag. it cost 919 sing dollars. cost a bomb i was so shocked. but mum let me buy it! i was on cloud nine when mum signed the bill. LOL oh and i accidentally spilled aloe vera drink on the sample bag. omg. luckily i didn't have to take that bag but the new one of course. phew.
eightieth day- the kimchi box exploded in my room. don't know why. but it smelled like shit. really. yuck. ate at the Taiwan restaurant again for lunch with mum, dad and erica. then we headed off to the branded stores again. i was delighted dad bought me Gucci necklace, bracelet and ring. omg. thank God a million gazillion times!~ i dun know how much it cost. but i'm sure it's a lot and i'm gonna treasure this gift. this really shows me how much dad loves me!!! but i'm sure he puts his love in many ways to us but we just didn't realize it sometimes. hehe. anyway, they're my first Gucci ever! (= mum bought Miu Miu black bag. i want Miu Miu wallet. they looked so soft. then in the afternoon, we gathered with the rest of the tour people and went to the airport. we arrived that night at Singapore.

my three cousins from jakarta arrived three days before us. it's been almost 3 years since i last see albert and nadya. and a year since vanny came. they were all so shy at first.

yesterday i stayed home whole day after swimming 5 laps. so tired. i only had the energy to watch 3 DVDs. Greta. The boy in striped pyjamas (love it!). Love Happens. my brother eric was developed SARS-like symptoms he said that day.

today went out at 6pm with my cousins. my sister erica fell ill. fever. no wonder she was all crampy that morning. crying and hugging me when i was still sleeping. mum took her to the hospital. eric was getting better except for his cough. mum said she felt sickly too. i had to admit i too felt very tired in the morning today. that's why i dragged my waking up time to 12pm! hope it's not anything bad... ate lunch at home. played cards with my cousins and brother. for dinner, we ate at AMK Hub Xiao Dian Er and ordered lots of food (6 dishes for 7 people) that the waitress told us it's a lot. she kept glancing at our table whenever she walked past when we were eating. LOL after that, we went supermarket and bought lots of things. the trolley was filled to the top! vanny and i planned to make sushi real soon! we got the materials already just now. (=

now everybody is on their laptops. i guess everyone was feeling tired. mum and erica retired early to bed. the house is back to silent mode except for the clicking sound of the keyboards and mouse and game sound of my brother eric playing the PS3.

shihan called earlier to ask whether i was in CityHarvest and whether i can meet her tonight. i told her after Christmas. hopefully i can make the sushi by then and brought down some for her. i felt bad for not bringing anything from aussie for her.

i think i will sleep for now. plans for tomorrow? mum's laksa for breakfast. peninsula/funan. orchard to shop and karaoke? these are just plans. it might change when tomorrow comes. might or might not.

xoxo,
thegirlwhoisexcitedforChristmas!
